About Risen Savior Lutheran Church
A new LCMS congregation planted in Piedmont, Oklahoma — how we began, whom we belong to, and where we are headed.
Our Story
A Church Being Born
Piedmont is growing quickly, and for a long while there has been no confessional Lutheran congregation here. Families who wanted the Divine Service, the historic liturgy, and preaching centered on Christ crucified had to drive out of town to find it. Risen Savior exists to change that.
We are a new congregation being planted under the care and oversight of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. We began the way most churches in Scripture began: a handful of people, prayer, and the conviction that where the Word is preached purely and the Sacraments administered rightly, Christ gathers His Church.
Our first Divine Service was held Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the Piedmont Area Veterans Association Event Center. We have gathered there every Sunday since.
Our vision is simple: to proclaim the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as the only hope for sinners, to administer His Sacraments faithfully, and to form a community shaped by the ancient faith once delivered to the saints.
Who We Belong To
The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod
Risen Savior is a congregation of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), a church body of some 6,000 congregations across the United States, and part of its Oklahoma District. That affiliation is not a label of convenience. It means we are accountable to a confession — the same one we ask you to hold us to.
Practically, it also means we are not doing this alone. The Oklahoma District has walked with us from the beginning, and pastors from across the district have graciously offered to fill our pulpit until we are able to call a pastor of our own.
We do not yet have a called pastor. Pastors of the Oklahoma District are filling the pulpit and administering the Sacraments while our congregation grows toward calling its own shepherd. Praying for that call is one of the most useful things you can do for us right now.
Our elders are Gabriel Parker and Carl Schroeder. If you have a question before Sunday — about visiting, about communing with us, or about the Lutheran faith — either of them, or the contact form, is a good place to start.

Be Part of This From the Beginning
Church plants are built by ordinary people doing ordinary things faithfully — setting up chairs, greeting a nervous visitor, teaching a Sunday School class, praying by name for a congregation that does not yet have a pastor.
If you live in Piedmont, Yukon, or northwest Oklahoma City and this is the kind of church you have been looking for, we would love to meet you. Come Sunday, or reach out first and we will answer whatever you would like to ask.
- Visit on a Sunday — 10:30 AM, no need to tell us you are coming.
- Get in touch — questions, or an interest in helping.
- Support the plant — through the Oklahoma District, designated for Risen Savior.
